Carpe Diem!

Just read a Rediff story today of an IIM-B guy with a Master's in Electrical Engg. from Berkeley who's set the new record for the highest salary offered to a candidate. $108,000 p.a. (87 awesome lacs). Phew. Way to go, Mr.Agarwal! Incidentally, the recruiter is a London based bank.

Got me thinking..what awaits me once I finish my Master's? I left the comfort zone of a great job as an Account Executive in a Top 5 advertising firm in India where I was treated extremely well. I am no geek, and I would say that I am a good worker. I have a life. I have other interests which keep my energy levels high and my zest for advertising persistent. There's a lot of competition, and I am aware of my strengths and limitations. I am hoping I have what it takes to cut it. The fire, the drive and the zeal to be an A grade advertising executive soon, as I near the end of my Master's.

The future is uncertain yet, but I am hoping I can make my mark. I am a passionate person when it comes to a few things, one being advertising. For me its more than a job, it's a lifelong passion with something I have grown to love and be constantly romanced by. The last dance is a long way away.

I am hoping that when my time comes, I rise and meet the challenge. And along the way, sometime make some sort of lasting impression and contribution in this wonderful field.

I am inspired. By words, by images, by people's reactions, by the client's delight, by self satisfaction.By love, by humor, by pain, by sacrifice, by blood, by fire, by emotions, by talent,by hunger.

In my opinion,a man who's uninspired is always half the man that he can be. Inspiration is what makes us want to be better and bigger persons than what we are that truly makes us aim for the stars.
